What is Britepeer?

A Slackbot. Virtual teams and communities use Britepeer’s bot to connect members by skill.

Who uses Britepeer?

Companies and communities. Company users are teammates looking for cross-functional help on projects and teammates with specific expertise who need to help with cross-functional work. Community users are members looking for help and experts open to helping.

Who buys Britepeer?

The Slack owner or admin. A Slack administrator might be the community manager, community owner, operations manager, HR Administrator, Administrative Assistant, CEO or COO.

How do I use Britepeer?

Once your Slack Admin has downloaded the app, you’ll see the Britepeer Bot in the  Apps section of the Slack group you belong to.

  1. Start by typing ****/britepeer ****anywhere in your Slack group. You can try it in your own DMs if you’re feeling nervous. Don’t worry. The command and modals are only visible to you.
  2. After you type the command /britepeer, a modal will appear. The modal will give you two options:
    1. Ask a question
    2. Share expertise

  1. Fill out the modal information. Askers and Experts will see different modals.

    1. Askers: Make sure you make a very detailed ask so you are likely to get matched with the correct peers.
      1. Once you are done, click Submit.
      2. You’ll receive a direct message with a copy of your submission. If you are happy with how your submission looks, click Submit to start getting matches.

    b. Experts: Include a working booking link where a peer can book you for a virtual meeting.

    <aside> 💡 Protip: Experts should fill out their Slack headline. It will autofill when peers see you listed as a match, so they know a little about who you are and what you do.
